Airport Security’s Swift Action
Dubai’s General Department of Airport Security recently brought considerable relief to an Arab traveler by successfully recovering and returning a bag she had misplaced at Airport Terminal 1. The bag contained a substantial amount of valuables, including cash, gold, and personal documents.
Colonel Abdullah Faisal Al-Dosari, Director of the Airport Terminal 1 Security Department, elaborated on the incident. An employee discovered a black bag in an public area of the terminal. A subsequent check of its contents revealed $20,000 in cash, 150 grams of gold, additional foreign currency, various mobile phones, and important personal documents.
Identifying and Locating the Owner
While the personal documents inside the bag provided crucial information about the owner’s identity, locating and contacting her proved to be a more complex task. Colonel Al-Dosari noted that no lost item report matching the description of the bag had been filed, necessitating a dedicated effort to trace the traveler’s movements through the airport.
A team was formed to track her route, and the operations room was notified to initiate the necessary procedures for establishing contact. It was discovered that the traveler was on the verge of departing the country, with a flight scheduled for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She was reportedly experiencing significant distress over the lost bag and was uncertain about the steps to take, fearing she might miss her flight due to the situation.
Return of Valuables
Dubai Police managed to return the bag to the traveler after completing all required legal procedures and verifying that she possessed the necessary permits and documentation for the items. The traveler expressed profound happiness and gratitude for the diligent efforts of the Dubai Police, commending their dedication to reuniting travelers with their lost belongings and providing support during stressful situations.
